Before the Elite Eight battle between the Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers in Albany on Monday night, ESPN’s Holly Rowe provided viewers with an insightful look into the much-discussed relationship between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.
Ever since the theatrics that took place in the 2023 national title, in which Reese and the Tigers beat Clark and the Hawkeyes, the narrative has been that the two superstars dislike each other.
Since, both women have flourished, and Clark became the NCAA Division 1 all-time leading scorer.
“Angel Reese made it clear this week, she and Caitlin Clark do not hate each other. They’ve actually supported each other from afar,” Rowe stated.
After Clark accomplished broke the D1 record, Reese was quick to congratulate her.
“Congratulations Caitlin Clark. Keep breaking records and making her-story,” Reese posted to social media.

Rowe provided more detail on their relationship:
“Angel sent out a great tweet when Caitlin broke the all-time scoring record,” Rowe continued. “And Caitlin has said, ‘I think Angel is great.’ They are just so fiery that when they step in between the lines, there is no friends to unapologetically fiery young women facing off with something big both on the lines.”
