Last year, Netflix canceled more series than any other major streaming platform: 22 shows. By doing so, Netflix also broke its previous “most shows canceled” record (16 in 2023).

In addition to these 22 cancelations, Netflix also confirmed via engagement reports that several K-Dramas–including My Demon, The Bequeathed, and Welcome to Samdalri–were officially one-season series.

These K-Dramas were relabeled “limited series” in Netflix’s bi-annual engagement reports. Although there can be exceptions, Netflix’s limited series typically have a fixed number of episodes and are only one season with no plans for renewal.
Now, as of March 2025, Netflix has classified some 2025 K-Dramas as limited series, meaning they were unlikely to get a second season. On the list are: IU and Park Bo Gum’s When Life Gives You Tangerines…

…the controversial science fiction romance When the Stars Gossip…
…the enemies-to-lovers small-town romance The Potato Lab…

…and Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin’s 2024-2025 K-Drama When the Phone Rings.
