An alleged screenshot of actress Kim Go Eun‘s emotionally charged exchange with a male actor has created quite a buzz in Korean online forums.

The actor in question is Byun Yo Han, best known for his roles in K-Dramas such as Mr. Sunshine and Uncle Samsik and movies such as The Book of Fish and Hansan.

On February 12, KST, a netizen posted a screenshot of an emotional textual exchange, supposedly between Kim and Byun, and mentioned their dating rumors from more than a decade ago.
Byun: I wasn’t being dependent. I hope you don’t judge without listening to my side of the story in person. I can tell you every single part of that story. That’s all there is to it.
Kim: Oppa. We can stop now. Stop trying so hard.
Byun: It’s because you think I’m trying too hard that I’m deciding to trust God’s intention with this in these last moments.
Kim: I’m sorry, but you’re always using God as an excuse. That’s how I feel.
Byun: Stop denying it and pray. I’m the person you loved…— The conversation above
These texts are speculated to date back to Kim and Byun’s college days when the two of them met and allegedly started dating. In 2013, they were caught up in rumors of having developed romantic feelings for one another while studying at K-ARTS. Their relationship was said to be an open secret among students. But at that time, Kim’s agency denied the speculations.
This resurfaced chat screenshot has brought back attention to Kim’s love life, with many expressing their surprise at this unexpected pairing, while others recalling about its existence after a long time.

- “For real??”
- “Yup.”
- “Yeah, I remember these texts.”
- “Was it back when they were students? I remember seeing something like that.”

- “Of course, we knew it.”
- “Whoa. I just came to know.”
