An online community post recently garnered attention for a netizen’s story about MONSTA X’s Shownu.
Shownu enlisted in the military in 2021 and served as a public service worker due to his eye surgery.
“I have a good image of MONSTA X’s Shownu
Shownu worked as a public service worker when my mom worked at the children’s center. He always arrived on time and an hour early when it was a child’s birthday or some kind of event.
During field trips, if the kids got too rowdy, he would sing them nursery rhymes. Because he didn’t know the lyrics, he sang them a bit strangely, but he continued to sing even though the kids made fun of him for it.
He always got off work late from playing with the kids who kept begging him to stay. It was rare for him to take days off, and he was always there to help, whether it was the chef or the senior cleaning lady.”
“He even helped my mom with taking out some papers because her shoulder hurt, and when she said, ‘Thanks so much! My shoulder suddenly hurts these days’ he would reply that his shoulder often hurts too and recommended that she doesn’t carry heavy things and to try 1:1 training at the gym.
Afterward, anytime he saw my mom carry something or play with the kids, he would come running over to do it for her instead. Later, my mom ended up quitting due to shoulder surgery, and on her last day at work, he came with flowers and a fruit basket and even carried the basket to her car because he said it was heavy. I seriously have such a good image of him.”
Netizens praised him for positive work ethics.
- “Wow this compares to the public service worker at my sibling’s center.”
- “Right? My mom was a public service worker, and it’s already rare for them not to take days off, and if they do, they just call and request that they take care of it. But Shownu always let them know in advance and gave his reasons for why he was taking off. If there was an event scheduled at the center, he would push back his schedule to help.”
- “It’s so hilarious that he gave advice to work out at the gym. I can imagine him being serious while talking about it.”
- “He even taught her some exercises she could do with a chair. When he saw that my mom was laughing, he would work even harder to show her.”
We love a hard-working and faithful man!
