In the latest episode of her YouTube show, Palette, IU formally apologized to the members of IVE.
On January 20, KST, IVE appeared on the show as special guests. Right after greeting them, IU shared a behind-the-scenes story, stating that she wanted to have the girl group on the show much , but the plan was scrapped due to her bad health IU then got up and offered a 90-degree bow of apology, immediately sending her juniors into panic mode.
IU kept apologizing profusely when Wonyoung interjected, consoling her that she shouldn’t feel that way. Despite her reassuarance, IU couldn’t help feeling apologetic, as she stated the group had prepared a lot for their previous appearance. They were supposed to perform a cover song of IU for the “Palette Switch” segment of the show and had kept a whole day aside for the filming despite their busy schedules.
IU explained that on the day of the filming, she unexpectedly fell sick. “When I woke up, I felt something was wrong…I had a high fever,” she added. She had to call off the shoot to visit the doctor.
Though the situation was inevitable, IU felt so sorry for the last-minute cancellation that she even reached out to her hairstylist, who also works with IVE, to convey her genuine apologies. She even apologized to Liz in person when they ran into each other in the elevator.
As IU blurted out a couple of more “I am sorry”-s, Wonyoung again reassured her saying that all the members simply wanted her to get better soon when they heard about the recording cancellation.
But the “Love Wins All” singer confessed that the incident still lingered on her mind, calling it the “worst thing (she) did in 2024.”
