How do you know you’ve met The One? What if you let someone go without knowing they’re your perfect match? Super Junior‘s Heechul recently had a spotlight shone on his love life and dating history.
In an episode of My Little Old Boy, Heechul talked about marriage with a fortune teller. When he asked her, “When will I get married?” the fortune teller told him he could get married “this year or next year” if he wanted to. “There’s marriage in your fortune already,” she said.
The fortune teller went on to tell Heechul that there “are so many people” he could marry because he doesn’t “lack women” in his life. Even so, according to the fortune teller, Heechul is lonely because his one true love is already gone.
“So even if you meet someone,” she said, “she won’t be the one. You missed your match made in heaven.” This information came as a shock to Heechul, who responded, “Pardon?”
The fortune teller told him he has to let his match made in heaven go and move on to someone else, even though that someone isn’t the one. She advised Heechul to meet someone who is just like him in terms of his personality and career. In particular, he should marry a fellow celebrity. “Things won’t work out if you meet a non-celebrity,” the fortune teller said.
Heechul is often elusive when asked about his love life–he even dodged Dispatch for a decade–but he did publically date a fellow idol. Heechul and TWICE‘s Momo confirmed their relationship on January 1, 2020, after being linked together since August 2019. They broke up in 2021.
From my understanding, Momo and Heechul have ended their relationship.
Both of them are so busy that they have grown apart. They have decided to end their relationship and go back to being colleagues in the industry.

As for non-celebrities, it’s possible that Heechul has dated one before. In the past, Heechul mentioned his ex-girlfriends and the lengths he went to in order to keep his relationships private.
The fortune teller told Heechul that he should not date someone who is more than five years younger than him. “That’s how you’ll become mature,” she explained. In response, Heechul said, “I’ve lived so immaturely. That must be why I can’t get married. My mom really hates it.”
According to the fortune teller, Heechul is cautious about marriage because he is not someone who will ever get divorced. Heechul agreed that once he ties the knot, he’s in it for life.
Finally, after repeatedly “scolding” Heechul, who was getting a little frustrated at this point, the fortune teller told him how he could improve his luck. She advised him to emcee at many weddings. Could he meet his future wife there? Only time will tell!
