The Professional Women’s Hockey League finals are down to a decisive Game 5, with Boston and Minnesota set to clash for a championship on Wednesday night.
The two teams have split the first four games of the best-of-five series. Boston won a dramatic, 1-0 double-overtime game on Sunday evening to force a Game 5. Alina Müller scored the game-winning goal for Boston.
But the heroics from Müller did not come without controversy. Just one minute earlier, Minnesota appeared to have won the Walter Cup as Sophie Jaques ushered the puck into the back of the net. But Jaques’ teammate, Taylor Heise, was called for goalie interference, waving off the score and setting the stage for Boston.
Now, with the venue shifting back to Massachusetts, the season boils down to one lone game.
