Hollywood star Robert Pattinson is visiting Korea for the first time to promote a new film. Mickey 17 is an upcoming science fiction black comedy film produced, written, and directed by Bong Joon Ho, the creative mastermind behind Parasite and Memories of Murder.
Recently, both Pattinson and Bong attended a press conference for Mickey 17 that was held in the Yongsan District of Seoul. Pattinson, who received worldwide recognition for his role as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise, cited Bong’s sense of humor and widespread appeal as two reasons why he wanted a role in Mickey 17.
Mickey 17 takes place in a world where human beings can be cloned as easily as documents can be photocopied. Pattinson plays one of these disposable humans who is sent on a dangerous expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim.
At the press conference, Pattinson greeted reporters with a hello in Korean, “Annyeonghaseyo” and took part in a photo op with Bong. At first, Pattinson couldn’t seem to decide which kind of heart pose to do, at first. He tested out the classic finger-hearts…
…before making a hand-heart with Bong. Korean idols and actors often strike these poses on the red carpet or at press conferences.
Unsurprisingly, fans are loving these wholesome interactions…
