Comedian and TV personality Haha is going viral for defending his wife Byul from online misogynists.

Byul, who is a ballad singer, had participated in a tvN show called Mom Is An Idol in 2021, where she delivered some dynamic performances while fighting for a spot in the girl group that was supposed to be created through the show (MAMADOL). One of Byul’s most talked about performances on the show was her rendition of HYNN‘s “The Lonely Bloom Stands Alone.”
Though the performance was uploaded on YouTube three years ago, recently some netizens realized that Haha was replying to some of the comments under it around a year later.
He responded to two comments in total, the first one being a gendered hate comment.

Comment: Ahjumma, just go and cook dinner at home. Only you think this is perfect; others don’t.
Haha: Dumba*s.
The other comment was a positive one, praising Haha for his decision to marry Byul. He responded to it warmly, making no attempts to hide how proud he was to be her husband.

Comment: Haha-hyung has married really well…
Haha: I admit.
Netizens were equally amused and proud to see Haha defend his wife so unapologetically in public. Some even compared him to Park Bo Gum‘s character of Gwan Sik from When Life Gives You Tangerines.

- “F*cking hilarious.”
- “The first one got deleted though.”
- “LOL.”

- “Ah. I really like him a lot.”
- “It’s nice to see how he seems to love his family so much.”
- “For Byul, Haha is like Gwan Sik.”
