Indiana betting news and analysis
Indiana (5-0 SU, 4-1 ATS) is paying off at an 80% clip ATS this season. At No. 23 in the AP Top-25, the Hoosiers boast a national ranking for the first time since the start of the 2021 season.
Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke transferred in after spending five seasons at Ohio. Rourke threw for 359 yards and three passing touchdowns in the win over Maryland. It marked the 11th time he’s thrown for 3+ TDs.
Indiana has a trio of RBs in Justice Ellison, Ty Son Lawton, and Elijah Green who’ve accounted for a combined 15 rushing TDs through five games.
WRs Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper Jr. have both topped 300 receiving yards and added a combined five TDs. Indiana is tied with Ohio State for the Big Ten lead in ppg at 48.8.
The Hoosiers also rank 8th nationally in average margin of victory (26.3 points). Cignetti has worked his magic at Indiana after carrying James Madison to an 11-2 record last season.
Northwestern betting news and analysis
Northwestern (2-2 SU, 1-3 ATS) has scored more than 20 points in only one game this season. That was against FCS school Eastern Illinois, 31-7.
The Wildcats lost their Big Ten opener against Washington 24-5 last week. Quarterback Jack Lausch threw for just 53 yards and two picks. He also led Northwestern’s rushing “attack” with 21 yards on 13 carries.
Lausch has struggled since taking over two weeks ago. Don’t be surprised to see Vanderbilt transfer Mike Wright back under center at some point on Saturday.
Northwestern competed in a 26-20 OT loss to Duke, but it’s hard to get excited about the prospect of the Wildcats hanging with the Hoosiers in this one.
The marks the first time the two teams have played in Evanston since the 2016 season. Northwestern leads the all-time series, 47-35-1.
Northwestern has also won five of the last six meetings, but Indiana prevailed most recently in 2019 with a 34-3 victory.
