In a recent YouTube appearance, (G)I-DLE member Minnie addressed the much-curious question of her family background.
While Minnie has been in the public eye for over seven years as a member of (G)I-DLE, not much is known about her personal life, including her family back in Thailand. This layer of mystery naturally invited all kinds of speculations about her background, including rumors of her belonging to an uber-rich family.
Minnie has finally responded to these rumors during her guest appearance on groupmate Miyeon‘s YouTube show, T-Time. The show’s name is an abbreviation of the phrase “Truth Time” since the format involves the guests sharing not-so-well-known facts about themselves on the show.
During her “Truth Time,” Minnie was asked if she wanted to address any rumors or speculations about herself that she found to be unfair. She immediately said yes and proceeded to talk about the assumptions people have about her family background.
There’s something I really want to clarify. I did live somewhat comfortably but my parents didn’t completely support me financially or anything.

The “Her” singer added, “I don’t use my parents’ money.”
Miyeon tries teasing her by pointing out the lyrics of “My Bag,” where Minnie brags about being rich since birth, but in response, she swiftly shifts the blame on Soyeon. Minnie replied, “Soyeon wrote those. It’s none of my business,” making Miyeon break into a chuckle.
