Lee Hye Jung, a well-known cooking researcher in Korea, recently shared her impressive journey of shedding 22 kilograms, and everyone is going crazy over it.
Lee appeared on the YouTube channel Magazine JUNGUM to discuss the dietary strategies that contributed to her significant weight loss last week on May 24.
In the video titled “A Diet Meal Plan That Makes You Worry About Losing Too Much Weight,” Lee Hye Jung detailed her experience and the methods she used to achieve her impressive goal. Park Jun Geum, the host, invited Lee to share her insights after noticing some weight gain and seeking a systematic approach to dieting.
Lee confessed that she despised exercising and opted for dieting instead. Initially, her approach involved severe calorie restriction, which led to muscle loss and even affected her vocal cords. She recounted a difficult period where her voice became hoarse, and medical professionals informed her that weakened vocal cord muscles were the cause.
I hate exercising more than dying, so I thought it would be better to starve myself. But I lost muscle, my skin sagged, and for a while, my voice was hoarse. When I went to the ENT doctor, they said my vocal cord muscles had weakened and couldn’t support my voice box. I went through that and barely survived.

Despite these challenges, Lee persevered. She found a better approach to losing weight than calorie restriction and ultimately lost 22 kilograms. The star highlighted that contrary to popular belief, one doesn’t need to avoid carbohydrates or meat entirely. She advised against starving oneself, advocating for a more balanced approach.
Lee revealed that her diet initially consisted of tomatoes, tofu, and eggs for three months, resulting in a 2.5-kilogram weight loss. However, this extreme regimen caused health issues, including anemia and fainting, which required medical attention.
For three months, I lived on just tomatoes, tofu, and three eggs, and I lost 2.5kg in those three months. But during that time, I also suffered from anemia, fainted, and even had to get IV drips.

To prevent others from experiencing similar issues, Lee developed more balanced and nutritious recipes. During the show, she showcased her vegetable soup, tofu fried rice, and pork shabu-shabu salad, which she highly recommended as part of a healthy diet plan. The recipes were so good that Park Jun Geum praised their flavor and even suggested that they should be made into meal kits due to their delicious taste and health benefits.
