It turns out Shohei Ohtani is really good at baseball, FYI. The Dodgers’ star went four-for-four Sunday and drilled a pair of home runs in his team’s 5-1 win over the Braves.
The performance Sunday marked Ohtani’s first four-hit game of the season and his first two-homer game of the season. His second long ball, his 10th of the year and third in two games, was belted 464 feet marking his longest HR of the season.
It was an impressive display to cap off an outstanding series for Ohtani against one of baseball’s best teams. He finished the series 7-for-12 (.583) with five runs score, six RBIs, two walks, two strike outs and three home runs. That’s right. He struck out fewer times than he homered.
He talked after the game with SportsNet LA’s Kirsten Watson about his approach being dialed in at the plate:

For the season Ohtani is now slashing .364/.426/.685 with 10 home runs, 30 runs scored and 25 driven in. If he stays this locked in not only will the Dodgers continue cruising (they’ve won 11-of-13), but Ohtani will be in the mix for a third MVP award despite the fact he won’t be pitching this season. What a player.
