Former MBLAQ member and actor Lee Joon recently opened up about his experience as a victim of school bullying.
On April 27, KST, Lee appeared as a guest on MBC’s show Point of Omniscient Interference, where he revealed his bitter memories. During the episode, Lee talked about wanting to help disadvantaged people, especially those who are victims of school violence. He explained that he felt so deeply about the cause because he, too, once was a victim of excessive bullying.
To be honest, I got beaten up until college.
— Lee Joon
Lee recalled that he used to get beaten up so badly that even walking would be difficult. His childhood friend and actor Guk Ji Yong also added that the bullying was so severe it made even Lee’s mother cry.
The details got even more graphic when Lee added that his school uniform pants would get so bloodied that they wouldn’t come off and had to be cut off with scissors.
The back of my uniform won’t come off since it would be covered in blood. So I had to tear it with scissors.
— Lee Joon
The injuries took a significant toll on Lee Joon’s body, especially since he was a dance student. It got so difficult for him to do stretches and warm-ups that he had to take a break from his course.
Lee Joon added that some of the seniors would also try to coerce him into bullying his juniors. But he never complied, only pretended.
The actual “karma” moment in Lee’s life, however, happened during a wedding he went to as an adult. At the event, he encountered some of his school bullies, but they all took off as soon as they saw Lee.
