The last time Iowa faced Michigan, Caitlin Clark made history.
The Hawkeyes’ senior star scored a career-high 49 points, helping her become the NCAA women’s basketball all-time scoring leader. So safe to say expectations for the rematch are high.
No. 6 seed Michigan pulled off an upset of No. 3 Indiana to secure a spot in the semifinals and likely the NCAA tournament. But before that, the Wolverines will look to to stun the No. 2 Hawkeyes.
Iowa defeated No. 7 Penn State by a whopping 33 points Friday night in an all-around effort, as five players scored in the double-digits. Despite a slow start, Clark led the Hawkeyes in scoring — and broke the NCAA basketball single-season record for 3-pointers.
If the quarterfinal games provided any indication, Big Ten fans are in for a treat in Saturday’s semifinals with championship game berths on the line. Iowa is in search of its third consecutive title, while the Wolverines are vying for their first appearance in the championship game.
