BLACKPINK Jisoo‘s latest project, Newtopia, is set to begin airing early next month. Newtopia is set during a zombie outbreak and features a couple, played by Jisoo and actor Park Jung Min, fighting to find each other.
With the release being so close, the stars have begun promotional work, appearing on variety programs. On January 23, the YouTube channel Studio Chika Chika shared an interview with Park Jung Min and Jisoo.
During the video, Jisoo and Jung Min shared an anecdote about becoming a couple for the filming, mentioning that they met with the director before filming to take photos. These photos were meant to serve as “couple photos” for the series, likely to be used in shots.
While taking photos, the director asked them if they could meet up somewhere and take the images themselves instead. So, the on-screen couple ended up going on a “date” to Lotte World to take these photos.
The two stars talked about their difficulty taking the photos due to concerns that Jisoo would be recognized. After taking them, they hilariously realized that the lengths they went to to hide their identities made the setting unrecognizable and didn’t seem very “couple-like.” However, they stated that the experience was fun anyway looking back.
