In one episode of Stray Kids‘ YouTube series “2 Kids Room,” members Changbin and Hyunjin were paired up to talk while the other members watched from behind a screen and added their own thoughts.
While talking, Changbin and Hyunjin focused on their MBTI types and discussed their different travel and living styles. Changbin’s MBTI type is ENFP. ENFPs are known as “campaigners.” They tend to have lots of energy, which they channel into hope for and goodwill toward others.
On the other hand, Hyunjin’s MBTI is INFP. INFPs are known as “mediators.” They tend to be quiet but also very creative and passionate.
And so, understandably, when the two discussed how they live at their dorm, where the members have their own rooms, Changbin and Hyunjin were completely different. Changbin prefers to spend time in the common area, enjoying the company of his members, only going to his room to sleep.
He even uses the computer in the common room even though, as Hyunjin points out, he has two monitors in his room, and the chair in the common room isn’t as comfortable.
But Changbin prefers that to being alone. And he even admitted that when he is in his room, unless he’s sleeping, he keeps the door open so he can see what everyone else is up to.
In stark contrast, Hyunjin admitted that he doesn’t like to leave his room, preferring to spend time by himself.
He spends his time at home thinking about what he is going to do rather than who he will spend time with. Thinking of creative pursuits like what he can draw or what music he wants to listen to.
Hyunjin even goes so far as to plan which of his four candles he wants to light that day.
And although there’s a bathroom near Hyunjin’s room where he can get water, let alone a kitchen in the dorm that isn’t too far, Hyunjin admits that in order to leave his room as little as possible…
… He even bought bottles of water to keep in his room. Changbin admits that when he saw that Hyunjin was storing water bottles, he thought he thought Hyunjin was “out of [his] mind.”
Changbin then asks Hyunjin if he understands what a solitary life he leads if he won’t even leave his room to get water.
He even compared Hyunjin’s introverted tendency to his self-composed song “Streetlight.” “Streetlight” is an emotional song expressing the need to hide yourself from others, feeling alone because you cannot express yourself or your true feelings. Handling everything on your own.
And while it is a comfort song to many fans who are grateful to Changbin for releasing it because it helps show them they aren’t alone, Hyunjin doesn’t seem to mind his life being compared to the sad situation in the song.
Saying that he likes to “chew on the solitude in [his] room.”
To which Changbin wittily retorted that he should chew some gum instead.
