Two of Europe’s top sides face off in a highly-anticipated UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinal tilt.
Chelsea, coached by future U.S. Women’s National Team manager Emma Hayes and led by American striker Catarina Macario visits undefeated Barcelona in the first leg of their semifinal matchup.
Both clubs lead their respective leagues, with Chelsea ahead of Manchester City on goal difference with 46 points in the WSL, and Barcelona 12 points up on Real Madrid in Liga F.
It’s also a rematch from last year’s WCL semifinal. Barcelona stole a 1-0 win in London over Chelsea and then held on late with a 1-1 draw at home to win 2-1 on aggregate. Barcelona then went on to win 3-2 over Wolfsburg to win the Champions League, avenging their loss in the final to Lyon in 2022.
