The Professional Fighters League started 2024 on a hot note with a cross-promotional battle between its stars and Bellator. Now, the organization is ready to crown champions in its latest season. The path to the $ 1 million prize continues at PFL 2 on April 12.
Las Vegas will host the second PFL event of the year. Light heavyweights and lightweights will headline, with last year’s light heavyweight tournament winner, Impa Kasanganay, facing Alex Polizzi in the main event.
Kasanganay is a former Dana White’s Contender Series standout who really grew with the PFL. He turned it all around after being homeless at one point. Kasanganay appeared on the PFL Challenger Series and secured a spot in the 2023 regular season format. He went through the competition with ease, beating Josh Silveira to win $ 1 million and the 2023 PFL light heavyweight title.
There is more competition in the PFL thanks to the acquisition of Bellator. “Tshilobo” is excited to face fresh faces and potentially repeat as PFL’s top light heavyweight.

“I think it’s pretty cool that there are multiple champions in this division that I’m in,” Kasanganay told Sherdog. “I’m blessed that I can fight. I’ve had no major injuries, nothing that’s ever stopped me from fighting or being out for a year. I’m grateful. I started training when I was 24 years old. I never grew up doing this and became a world champion by the age of 29. I’m grateful that I’ll get this next title at 30 and keep moving forward.”
Polizzi turned pro in 2018. A Bellator signing, he is 4-3 with the promotion and is on a two-fight losing streak. “Easy” last fought in June, losing against Karl Moore.
