The NFL Draft evaluation process is one that is significantly different than most other evaluation processes. There is a lot of uncertainty in player evaluation and it can massively fluctuate from person to person. Some call the process an inexact science.
One of those analysts is former NFL quarterback turned-analyst Chase Daniel. Having played for six different teams in his career, Daniel has backed up some of the better quarterbacks in the 20th century so he knows a thing or two. When evaluating this quarterback class, Daniel is steadfast that Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. should be ranked among the top three quarterbacks.
You CANT tell me Michael Penix Jr is NOT one of the Top 3 QB’s in this years class if you’ve actually broken down his film & watched him. If you say different, you don’t know ball.
He’s a magician out there. He put on a performance for the ages vs Texas in Sugar Bowl. pic.twitter.com/LhXI2TyYbM

Is Penix really that good? As much as we know we really don’t know who will end up being the best quarterback in the class. What we do know is Penix is really good at dominating from the pocket and can carve defenses up on all levels of the field.
There are some major questions about Penix’s medical history with two torn ACLs and multiple shoulder injuries along with not creating outside of structure at a high level. However, being dominant from the pocket along with a good sack avoidance rate will help him immensely.
Only time will tell with Penix, who could potentially go to the Minnesota Vikings in the first round.
