A Thai woman made headlines for seemingly coming back from the dead.
Everyone believed that 49-year old Chataporn Sriphonla had died from liver cancer—that is, until she woke up well and alive. Paramedics were certain that she had died inside the ambulance that was taking her to the hospital in the Ban Dung district in Udon Thani, Thailand.
Her elderly mother, Mali, had already began calling her relatives to attend her beloved daughter’s funeral. The family worked quickly to transfer her body to the Phadung Pattana Temple where they planned to store her body overnight before being cremated.
My daughter was being treated for cancer at the hospital, but doctors told us she only had a slim chance of survival. I wanted her to spend her last moments with the family, so I arranged for her to be taken back to our home. We were heartbroken to find that she had died on the way home.

To everyone’s surprise, Chataporn suddenly gasped awake in the van, opening her eyes and causing a huge commotion.
She was quickly rushed to the nearby Ban Dung Crown Prince Hospital where she was immediately put under medical supervision.
The family members, though confused, were overwhelmingly happy. Her relatives told news outlets that they believed Chataporn held on one last time in order to see her children.
