It has been an offseason of headlines for the Oakland Athletics to go along with back-to-back 100-loss seasons. The team hopes to provide an on-field product that can help lower tensions within its passionate fanbase.
Off the field, it will be the final season in Oakland for the Athletics, a place the team has called home since 1968, as the team will move to Las Vegas. After this season, the team will be placed in various parks until it gets an official home base. Until then, the Athletics will look to make the most of its time in Oakland.
The A’s finished close to last in most batting and pitching categories in 2023. However, there were a few bright spots. Esteury Ruiz broke put as a stolen base machine (67), while Brent Rooker led the team in home runs (30).
During the offseason, the A’s traded for Abraham Toro and Ross Stripling and signed Miguel Andujar, Trevor Gott (unfortunately out for the season), and Alex Wood. One of the last big signings was picking up J.D. Davis, grabbing a veteran presence with plenty of power. It is unknown how the Athletics will do this season, but the team is ready to fight hard from start to finish in a crowded AL West.
Jenny Cavnar will become the first woman primary announcer in MLB history. How exactly can you hear her and see the A’s in action?
Here’s a complete guide to watching the Athletics this season without cable:
How to watch Athletics games without cable
For those without cable, there are several options to stream Athletics games this year:
If you’re in-market, Fubo carries NBC Sports California, the Athletics’ RSN, but blackout restrictions apply. If you are within the market for NBC Sports California, you can watch Athletics baseball via Fubo. Those out of market will not be able to watch Athletics games on the streaming service, since Fubo will not carry the out-of-market RSN.
Inside market, DirecTV Stream also carries NBC Sports California, as well as all of the networks that broadcast games nationally: Fox, ESPN, MLB Network, FS1 and MLB Network. These are all part of the service’s Choice package for $ 108.99 monthly.

If you live outside the Athletics’ TV market, you can watch games via MLB.tv. For $ 149.99 for the season or $ 29.99 per month, you can catch every game from every team outside your local market. You can also pick a single-team option for $ 129.99 for the season. Again, this is only if you are outside the Athletics’ TV market: If you are inside the Athletics’ market, games will be blacked out. Games will also be blacked out if you live outside the Athletics’ market, but inside the market of teams the Athletics are visiting.
Fubo is also carrying MLB.tv, for $ 29.99 per month on top of the Fubo subscription.

For nationally televised games, there are a few options, with some exceptions: Fubo, SlingTV, and DirecTV Stream all carry ESPN, MLB Network and FS1. YoutubeTV and Hulu + Live TV carry ESPN and FS1, but they do not carry MLB Network in 2024.
You can check if games are blacked out in your area using MLB’s blackout tool.
