It was a somber offseason for the Los Angeles Angels, as the team lost superstar two-way player Shohei Ohtani to free agency. The Japanese player signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which left a sour taste in Anaheim fans’ mouths.
As the calendar goes from 2023 to 2024, the Angels have more questions about the team than answers. The hope is the team exceeds expectations.
Despite not having Ohtnai on the roster, the Angels still have Mike Trout, who will look to once again put the Angels on his back. The 32-year-old has no plans of leaving the Angels at the moment. The 11-time All-Star and three-time MVP will do everything in his power, if healthy, to lead the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Outside Trout, the team will rely on versatile Luis Rengifo, Taylor Ward, and young guns Jo Adell and Zach Neto. The Angels also hope Anthony Rendon stays healthy. Rendon’s relationship with baseball is more of a business relationship than anything, but if the third baseman turns back the clock, the Angels could be in business.

The team did manage to add to its pitching staff and bench with the additions of Robert Stephenson, Zach Plesac, Luis Garcia, Matt Moore and Aaron Hicks. Who will break out of those signings as the Angels look to stay relevant in a crowded AL West?
Here’s a complete guide to watching the Angels this season without cable.
How to watch Angels games without cable
For those without cable, there are several options to stream Angels games this year:
If you’re in-market, Fubo carries Bally Sports West, the Angels’ RSN, but blackout restrictions apply. If you are within the market for Bally Sports West, you can watch Angels baseball via Fubo. Those out of market will not be able to watch Angels games on the streaming service, since Fubo will not carry the out-of-market RSN.
Inside market, DirecTV Stream also carries Bally Sports West, as well as all of the networks that broadcast games nationally: Fox, ESPN, MLB Network, FS1 and MLB Network. These are all part of the service’s Choice package for $ 108.99 monthly.
If you live outside the Angels’ TV market, you can watch games via MLB.tv. For $ 149.99 for the season or $ 29.99 per month, you can catch every game from every team outside your local market. You can also pick a single-team option for $ 129.99 for the season. Again, this is only if you are outside the Angels’ TV market: If you are inside the Angels’ market, games will be blacked out. Games will also be blacked out if you live outside the Angels’ market, but inside the market of teams the Angels are visiting.
Fubo is also carrying MLB.tv, for $ 29.99 per month on top of the Fubo subscription.

For nationally televised games, there are a few options, with some exceptions: Fubo, SlingTV, and DirecTV Stream all carry ESPN, MLB Network and FS1. YoutubeTV and Hulu + Live TV carry ESPN and FS1, but they do not carry MLB Network in 2024.
You can check if games are blacked out in your area using MLB’s blackout tool.
