Caitlin Clark begins her quest for a national championship in her final collegiate season on Saturday, as No. 1 Iowa takes on No. 16 Holy Cross in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Clark and the Hawkeyes fell just shy of a national title last season, falling in the title game to LSU. Now, in Clark’s swan song, Iowa is looking to accomplish one of the few feats that Clark is yet to check off in her college career.
Clark shined in last year’s NCAA Tournament, averaging 31.8 points per game across six contests. But the burden is equally heavy on Clark’s teammates, like sophomore guard Hannah Stuelke, who dropped 25 points to lead a comeback effort in the Big Ten Tournament title game against Nebraska.
Holy Cross ousted UT Martin the play-in game on Thursday night, earning the right to take on Clark and the Hawkeyes in the Round of 64. After winning the Patriot League regular season crown, they also won the Patriot League Tournament to punch their bid to the Big Dance.
Here’s what you need to know about Friday’s matchup between Iowa and Holy Cross, including broadcast information and start time.
