Fly, Peacocks, fly. For the second time in three years, Saint Peter’s is back for March Madness.
Two years ago, Doug Edert and the Peacocks grabbed a hold of America’s hearts, as the 15-seeded MAAC champions went on an epic run to the Elite Eight. Saint Peter’s stunned No. 2 Kentucky, No. 7 Murray State and No. 3 Purdue at the 2022 NCAA Tournament before eventually falling to No. 8 UNC, ending their Cinderella story.
This year, the Peacocks are looking to find that magic again. Edert is no longer on the team and neither is then-head coach Shaheen Holloway, who took over at Seton Hall after the 2022 tournament. Instead, second-year head coach Bashir Mason is at the helm of the mid-major program, with a roster led by sophomore forward Corey Washington.
