MANCHESTER, OLD TRAFFORD — Manchester United host Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinals at the Theatre of Dreams.
Despite a 17-point gap between the two sides in the Premier League, Erik ten Hag’s side have a fantastic record against the Reds in the FA Cup over the years.
These two teams have met 18 times in the competition, with United holding a significant advantage in the head-to-head record, having secured 10 victories compared to Liverpool’s four.
The most recent encounter between the sides in the FA Cup came during the fourth round in 2020/21. United emerged victorious with a 3-2 win at Old Trafford.
For United, the FA Cup is their only chance of winning silverware this season. Whereas for Liverpool, it’s a competition that could help them to a historic quadruple as they also look to go on and win both the Premier League and Europa League, having already claimed the Carabao Cup this season.
