The Southern Conference has emerged as a source of NCAA Tournament havoc in recent seasons, with the league’s automatic bid posing a serious challenge in the Big Dance.
For evidence, look no further than last year’s tournament. Furman — after winning the SoCon — shocked fourth-seeded Virginia, busting brackets on Day One.
As has become the norm, the SoCon is once again stocked with formidable teams. Samford (26-5, 15-3 SoCon) won the regular season championship, but UNC Greensboro, Chattanooga and Western Carolina each won over 20 games, comprising a potent top four.
That should make for a compelling SoCon Tournament, which begins on Friday. An automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, and the chance to become the next Cinderella, are on the line.
Here is everything that you need to know about this year’s SoCon basketball tournament, including TV and streaming options for each game.
