Comprising the best clubs from across CONCACAF, the 59th edition of the North & Central American club football championship, rebranded as the Champions Cup, will take the field in 2024.
After securing the first trophy in club history last season in the Leagues Cup, Inter Miami hope Lionel Messi can lead them further up the North American club food chain with their first appearance in the competition.
They are challenged by teams from across the confederation, including defending champions Club Leon, who reestablished Mexico’s stranglehold on the competition after MLS won its first crown in decades the previous edition. Nobody has repeated as title winners since Club America won two in a row in 2015 and 2016, while Monterrey won three straight from 2011 to 2013.
With this year’s champion set to earn a place at the highly anticipated 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, it’s a race to the finish, culminating with the one-off final in early June.

CONCACAF Champions League qualified teams
The CONCACAF Champions Cup is the North American continental club championship, or the equivalent of Europe’s UEFA Champions League.
The CONCACAF Champions Cup is meant to compile all the top clubs in North and Central America from the previous year into one knockout tournament, which crowns a continental club champion. As it has been since its inception, the tournament is a straight knockout bracket, with no group stage to start things off.
While recent years featured 16 teams in the knockout tournament, the 2024 competition will expand to 27. Five champions of various competitions will earn a bye to the Round of 16, while everyone else enters the tournament in the first round.
