After a strong opening match of the new campaign for both sides, Juventus travel to meet Hellas Verona in a Monday kickoff of early-season Serie A action.
Juve thrashed newly-promoted side Como 3-0 in their first game of the 2024/25 league season, while Verona shocked Napoli by the same score in their opener.
Verona held just 33 percent possession, but after seeing the match to halftime with a scoreless draw intact, they scored three times in the second half to pull away for their first win over Napoli in over three years. It has fired a warning shot to the rest of the Serie A elite, a season removed from finishing three points above the drop zone in a crowded relegation battle.
Juventus have a strong American connection, but unfortunately for U.S. fans, they may not be able to see their USMNT stars in action this weekend. Tim Weah picked up a hamstring injury in the season opener (but still managed to score his side’s second goal before coming off) and Weston McKennie has fallen behind other midfielders in the pecking order, although McKennie does appear close to signing a contract extension at the club.

Juventus vs. Hellas Verona prediction, odds
- Moneyline lean: Juventus (-145)
- Score prediction: Hellas Verona 0-2 Juventus
The opening round win over Napoli is surely a sign of intent for Hellas Verona this season, but where they were able to take advantage of a mentally frail opponent in that match, they cannot do the same against Juventus, who are known for their ability to grind out results in games such as this.
Juve are known for their lockdown defensive organization, holding Como to just three total shots on 0.17 xG in their league opener. Even if Verona do find a goal, it will be exceedingly difficult to keep Juventus at bay on the other end after a ruthless performance in front of goal to start the campaign. Even as Dusan Vlahovic continues to underperform his expected goals count, there are other strong finishers in the squad.

Juventus vs. Hellas Verona best bet
- Pick: Under 2.5 goals
- Odds: -140 (BetMGM)
While the value is somewhat muted, it’s still reasonable to expect Juventus to take a defensive approach to their game against Hellas Verona on the road. These two teams have played to scorelines under the 2.5 goal threshold in six of their last eight meetings dating back to the start of the 2020/21 season, and in both games that went over, Verona earned a result in both.
The pathway for Juventus to win here is keep Verona off the scoresheet, eventually able to poach one or two of their own.
Juventus vs. Hellas Verona prop bet
- Pick: Kenan Yildiz to score or assist a goal
- Odds: +165 (FanDuel)
Dusan Vlahovic is an expected goals black hole. Even as he will get his goals purely based on volume and the occasional sensational strike, this season is going to be all about the breakout of Kenan Yildiz up front for Juventus.
The Turkish youngster, still just 19 years old, burst onto the scene last season with some emphatic performances, but ultimately could only contribute two Serie A goals plus two more in the Coppa Italia. After a start in the season opener, where he grabbed an assist, it appears Yildiz is very much in the plans for head coach Thiago Motta.
With two shots and three chances created against Como, Yildiz will be a significant player in the Juventus buildup, and should have both chances of his own and setup those for Vlahovic and other finishers in the squad. There’s significant value here as the betting market still lags behind in its knowledge of the young playmaker.
