Tottenham take on newly promoted Leicester City in their opening Premier League game of the 2024/25 season today.
The pair wrap up a superb extended first weekend of the new season with Ange Postecoglu confident he can end Spurs’ 16-year wait for a trophy in the coming months.
Spurs finished sixth in the EPL last season, to secure a UEFA Europa League spot, as Leicester sealed top-flight promotion as EFL Championship winners.

Postecoglu has already broken the club transfer record this summer, with an initial £55m deal ($ 71m) to bring in Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth, and more changes are expected.
However, ahead of facing Leicester, the two sides are also locked in direct transfer talks as Oliver Skipp heads to the King Power Stadium.
Oliver Skipp to Leicester transfer fee, contract
As per the latest update from The London Evening Standard, the two clubs have agreed a £20m ($ 26m) fee for Skipp, with the England international ready to sign a three-year contract in the East Midlands.
Skipp made his EPL debut for Spurs in 2018, but he struggled to nail down a first-team spot, and the 23-year-old has made the call to move on.
An official update on the transfer could be delayed until after the game, to avoid disruption in both sides preparation, and that will delay Skipp’s debut.
Premier League rules require new signings to be formally registered at their new club before 12pm UK time on the last working day before a game.
Skipp will be Leicester’s fifth signing this summer including a deal to bring loan star Abdul Fatawu back on a permanent deal
