It’s the Jake Browning show in Cincinnati, and the results have been … mixed. After a horrific showing in a Week 12 loss to the Steelers, Browning and the Bengals offense went off against the Jaguars in a 34-31 overtime win last week. Browning completed more than 80 percent of his passing attempts for 354 yards and two total touchdowns.
The Colts are coming off their own overtime win over the Titans. Quarterback Gardner Minshew threw for 312 passing yards and two touchdowns, and he hit wide receiver Michael Pittman in overtime to push the Colts back into the playoff hunt.
So while it’s a battle of backup quarterbacks in this Week 14 matchup, both Browning and Minshew have proven themselves more than capable of leading their respective teams to wins. The two have complete command of their offenses with legitimate shots at the postseason.
The biggest issues for each will come on defense. The Bengals allow the 22nd most points in the league, whereas the Colts allow the 27th most points. This game could be another barn-burner with both offenses humming at full speed.
