Jake Paul has a date with destiny against Mike Tyson in November. However, he must get past the unorthodox Mike Perry on July 20. The fight in Tampa airs on DAZN.
Paul’s rise to fame came from Disney and YouTube. He used his platform on the latter to become a disrupter, not just in the entertainment world but in boxing as well. He is 9-1 in the ring, mainly facing MMA fighters.
Tyson getting an ulcer flare-up altered his plans, and now Paul, with the captive attention of his detractors and fans, is ready for different type of challenge.
“People didn’t really expect me to be where I’m at today,” Paul told Bloody Elbow. “They didn’t see behind the scenes how much I truly, truly need and want and love this sport. The sky is the limit when you don’t put any barriers or boundaries on what you can accomplish. I want to test myself and get under the bright lights.”
“This whole entire thing is a giant risk,” he added. “I’m focused on July 20, I’m focused on Mike Perry, and just being in that mindset is what will lead me to victory.”

Perry competed in the UFC for years before making his mark in bare-knuckle fighting. “Platinum” has gone 5-0 in Bare Knuckle FC with three straight knockout wins. He is ready to defy the odds and punch some respect into Paul.
Also on the card, unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano will fight a 10-round super lightweight bout against Stevie Morgan. Serrano is closing in on a rematch with undisputed 140lbs champion Katie Taylor on the planned Tyson vs. Paul card in November.
Former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. returns to action for the first time since December 2021 against ex UFC fighter Uriah Hall, while 11-0 prospect Ashton Sylve faces a step-up in class against the similarly undefeated Lucas Bahdi.
