Amid the HYBE Labels and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin feud, it was revealed that a subsidiary under HYBE would be undergoing management changes.
According to Star Today media outlet HYBE’s subsidiary label KOZ Entertainment’s CEO A resigned last June. It was also confirmed that Manager B, who worked with artist Zico for over ten years, had left the company early this year.
According to industry insiders, KOZ made these changes due to poor performance. Last year, it recorded sales of ₩19.4 billion KRW (about $ 14.2 million USD), the lowest performance rate of all labels under HYBE.
KOZ Entertainment currently houses artist Zico and the boy group BOYNEXTDOOR. BOYNEXTDOOR’s second mini album, How?, increased sales, but some industry officials feel that they made a hasty decision regarding personnel changes.
However, HYBE stated, “The employees stated resigned from the company due to personal reasons.”
Netizens were suspicious about the continuous changes in management of the subsidiary labels under HYBE.
- “Is HYBE trying to change all the CEO’s so they can control everything.”
- “I wish my bias’s company would change too..because it’s already at its worst.”
- “Are they trying to make boundaries because the think they think they will get big like Min Hee Jin?”
- “They’re trying to fill up the company with their people…multi-label my a**”
- “What is this..they are a label..why do they keep changing the CEO and putting someone else in.”
- “Multi-label my a**.”
On the other hand, KOZ was founded by Zico in 2018 and acquired by HYBE in 2020.
