On May 21, rookie K-Pop girl group ILLIT appeared at the Kutopia Festival at Korea University.
They performed a couple of songs, including their hit single “Magnetic”, to a very enthusiastic and energetic audience that seemed to enjoy every minute of the show.
This performance came in the midst of the ongoing feud between HYBE Labels and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, which ILLIT became involved in due to Hee Jin’s accusations of plagiarism against them in regard to NewJeans.
But if the members were stressed from the situation, it didn’t show in their bright, cheerful expressions and passionate performance on stage.

From just the standpoint of videos like these, it would be hard to believe anyone could find much to criticize about the showcase!

But of course, the online community is always going to have something critical to say, and this performance was no different. While there are still plenty of people online who commended the girls’ skills, others complained about them apparently lipsyncing for the show, especially with so many ongoing controversies around live vs. pre-recorded singing in recent times.
Do you think the members allegedly lipsyncing was a bad choice? Or a reasonable one?
