About a week ago, aespa shared the pre-release song “Supernova” off of their upcoming first full-length album, Armageddon, which is set to come out on May 27.
The song has already been a very successful one for aespa, earning the K-Pop group their first RAK (realtime all-kill) on Korean music charts.

This is especially impressive for a pre-release song, and shows just how much aespa’s popularity has grown in recent times! Not to mention, while the song isn’t to everyone’s tastes, many people are obsessed with the track and enjoying how unique and nostalgic of earlier K-Pop generations it is.
And it seems like aespa’s fans are pretty much everywhere! On May 18, the Twitter account for NASA‘s Webb Telescope shared an image of Cassiopeia A, which is a supernova remnant located in the Cassiopeia constellation whose supernova occurred approximately 11,000 light-years away.
Along with the image and a brief explanation of the image, the NASA account also included the “Su-su-su-supernova” line from aespa’s song, which has quickly made the tweet go viral with nearly five million views.

Supernovae like the one that formed Cas A (shown here) are crucial for life as we know it. They spread elements like the calcium in our bones and the iron in our blood across space, seeding new generations of stars and planets: https://t.co/juc4NL6kKX pic.twitter.com/RMpRQjlQ7N

It also has over 25,000 retweets, and a lot of them are from humorous and excited fans who are enjoying this unexpected “promotion”!
