A resurfaced clip of 2NE1 Dara‘s (also known as Sandara Park) creepy “love story” with a 14-year-old sparks disgust.
A video posted on Dara’s YouTube channel where she chatted with member Minzy has resurfaced and caused “digust.”
In the video, Dara revealed that before she debuted, a cute guy asked for her number and because he was cute, she gave it to him, and he was 14 years old.
Dara then explained that although the boy was 14 years old, she was 19 years old, but she lied to date him, adding, “I was like, ‘I’m 16.’” Although it is unclear whether she meant international or Korean age.
The idol recalled the different dates they had.
She then revealed that the only reason they stopped speaking was because Dara debuted during that time and during her introductions, had to reveal she was 19 years old.
When a post was shared about the resurfaced clip on Reddit, netizens were shocked that nobody had posted about it before.
Commenters shared their shock and anger at what was essentially “grooming” because not only was Dara much older, but she lied to the boy. Netizens also shared that while it was in the past and could be seen as a mistake, the fact that she recalled the moment and seemed proud of it implied that she didn’t see an issue with it.
