London calling…
England’s capital has proven a fertile ground for footballing excellence in recent years. That reputation has extended to the gridiron, as well, as the NFL has found a willing partner in Great Britain, showering the moody metropolis in a wave of color each time it touches ground.
The latest iteration of NFL London sees a pair of young QBs take center stage, with Caleb Williams and the Bears dueling with Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Chicago (3-2) has enjoyed a strong start to life with Williams under center. The rookie signal-caller looks to have emerged from some of the foibles that defined his first few contests, even posting a 304-yard, two-touchdown outing in a win against the Panthers last week.
Jacksonville (1-4), meanwhile, has toiled through the campaign thus far. Lawrence, for all his talent, has struggled to find consistency, casting doubts over the utility of his big-money contract. Good times could be on the horizon for the 25-year-old, who tallied 371 yards on 82.4-percent passing in the Jags’ Week 5 win over the Colts. But he’ll have to prove it against a Bears secondary that has surrendered just two touchdowns (compared to six interceptions) in the air thus far.

End of fourth quarter: Bears 35, Jaguars 16
12:15 p.m.: Allen bursts off the line of scrimmage, displaces his marker and collects Williams’ arrow on fourth-and-three — a move that could quite possibly prove a death knell for the Jaguars.
12:07 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! The Jags find pay dirt after Lawrence hits Davis on fourth-and-goal. Seven minutes left, so we’ll see what happens. They didn’t find their target on the two-point attempt, for what it’s worth.

11:36 a.m.: Penalties continue to rear their ugly heads as the Jags attempt to get off the field. A 12-men on the field call is compounded by a defensive holding, both of which override third-down stops and keep Chicago humming down the field.
11:27 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Lawrence fires a dart to Davis, who successfully hung on to record his first touchdown since signing with Jacksonville in the offseason. The Jaguars have life!

11:21 a.m.: Jags desperately need a score here. They’re slowly but surely moving towards one — for the first time since their opening possession, the Jaguars are employing the “death by a thousand cuts” tactic to a tee, accruing intermediate gains to take themselves up the field.
11:15 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Keenan Allen gets in on the action now, corralling an impressive Williams toss to push the Bears further out in front. The move was even accompanied by an epic “tea time” celebration. How wonderful…

11:07 a.m.: FUMBLE! The struggles continue for Lawrence and Co., who recorded a nice gain via pitch-and-catch with Jacksonville’s signal-caller and Engram. Just as the play looked to be ending, the ball was dislodged from Engram’s grasp falling into the hands of a Chicago defender.

11:05 a.m.: The Jaguars will start the second half with possession of the ball. They’ll certainly need it — they’ve struggled to create much of anything against this formidable Bears defense thus far.
End of second quarter: Bears 14, Jaguars 3
10:47 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Kmet does it again, snagging a delicate Williams effort in the back of the end zone to pick up his second score of the day. He’s on double duty with long-snapping responsibilities, so he wasn’t able to celebrate too much. But he’s having a wondrous day at the office thus far.
CALEB TO KMET AGAIN.

10:34 a.m.: Williams’ pick wasn’t too disastrous for Chicago’s defense, who held Lawrence and Co. quiet to force another punt, Jacksonville’s third in as many possessions.
10:29 a.m.: INTERCEPTION! Williams will want that one back. The rookie hurler attempted to find star wideout DJ Moore with a booming toss onto the goal line.
But the pass had too much air on it. Andre Cisco leapt high to rip Williams’ effort out the sky, spelling an end to what looked a strong Bears possession up to that point.

10:27 a.m.: Williams slides a 28-yard effort to his fellow rookie Rome Odunze. The Bears have made it out the shadow of their end zone, setting up shop now just outside Jacksonville’s 40.
10:24 a.m.: The overturned call was no matter for those of a Bears disposition. Chicago stifled Jacksonville in its final two plays of the drive, coaxing its opposition into another punt.
10:22 a.m.: …or did it? After an official review, referees ruled that Etienne had not secured full possession of the ball prior to his alleged fumble. The play was ruled an incomplete pass. Jacksonville gets a reprieve.
10:19 a.m.: FUMBLE! A promising Jaguars drive ends before it gets started. Lawrence flicked a dart to Travis Etienne Jr. in front of the first down marker. The former Clemson standout saw his dreams of a catch and run turn to rubble after having the ball ripped out of his grasp. Completely derailed a drive which looked enticing, particularly after Tank Bigsby’s 41-yard kick return
10:14 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Chicago opens its touchdown account, courtesy of a slick play design by Shane Waldron. Williams faked screens to Keenan Allen and Swift before hitting a streaking Cole Kmet down the field, who subsequently shrugged off a would-be tackler to trot into pay dirt. 31 yards in the blink of an eye. The Bears tight end even took on long-snapping duties with Chicago’s regular LOS out for the game.

Bears 7, Jaguars 3
10:13 a.m.: Williams hits Roschon Johnson on the screen pass, who proceeds to slalom past tacklers en route to a 17-yard gain on third-and-six.
10:11 a.m.: Chicago is beginning to hit its stride on the ground. Williams rambled for a first on a cheeky read option.
10:08 a.m.: D’Andre Swift finds a hole and races through the mire for 12 yards — the Bears’ first first down of the contest.
10:04 a.m.: Another promising Jags drive fell apart at the final hurdle. Chicago will be granted possession to start the second quarter.
End of first quarter: Jaguars 3, Bears 0

9:55 a.m.: Curious moment for Williams and Co. on third-and-intermediate. Williams attempted to fulfill one of his signature sidearm tosses. But it went awry, limping out of his hand. Chicago will send the ball back to Jacksonville.

9:45 a.m.: Lawrence hits Christian Kirk as Jacksonville moves inside Chicago’s 10. We’re looking at first-and-goal.
9:41 a.m.: Strong start by Lawrence thus far. In addition to his throw to Davis, he’s also scrambled for a first and sent bolts to Engram and leading receiver Brian Thomas Jr. Jacksonville has breached Chicago territory.
9:39 a.m.: Lawrence finds Gabe Davis on the out round, moving the chains on third-and-short.
9:36 a.m.: Williams attempted to conjure up some magic as rushers pooled into his pocket on third down. However, he couldn’t escape Roy Robertson-Harris’ clutches. Jacksonville shuts the door and gets the ball back for its floundering attack.
9:33 a.m.: The Jaguars deferred after winning the coin toss. The Bears are going to lead the dance to start things.
