Oktagon MMA’s huge stadium event in Frankfurt, Germany is officially a sell-out.
Promotion officials confirmed to The Sporting News that Oktagon 62, which takes place at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, home of Eintracht Frankfurt FC, is now sold out, with 60,000 fans expected to be in attendance for the promotion’s biggest-ever event.
The show will feature a battle of German welterweight fan favorites, as Frankfurt’s Christian Eckerlin and Stuttgart’s Christian Jungwirth face off for the ceremonial title of “The King of Germany.”
The co-main event will see the promotion’s number-one-ranked pound-for-pound athlete, Patrik Kincl, put his middleweight title on the line against top contender Kerim Engizek.
By passing the 60,000 mark, Oktagon confirmed that they have eclipsed the UFC’s largest-ever attendance of 57,127 for UFC 243: Adesanya vs. Whittaker in Melbourne, Australia in 2019. It also surpasses Polish promotion KSW’s biggest attendance of 57,776 for their iconic KSW 39: Colosseum event back in 2017.
It means that, in terms of attendance, Oktagon 62 will be the biggest event in European MMA history and the biggest MMA event of all time outside of Japan, who saw crowds in excess of 60,000 for PRIDE and K-1 events at the Tokyo Dome in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Oktagon 62 will be the biggest attendance for an MMA show anywhere in the world in more than two decades.

Oktagon MMA co-founder ‘super excited’ for historic event
Oktagon MMA co-owner and co-founder Pavol Neruda admitted that he was blown away by the response from the fans as the promotion looked to follow up their successful event at the Eden Stadium in Prague with an even more ambitious stadium show in the same year.
“It’s crazy, it’s amazing,” he said.
“The arena is so huge, the atmosphere is so big, and this is us making a massive statement to the world.
“We sold 40,000 within the first three weeks, before we even announced many fights, and I think that that shows how we have built a brand that the public can trust.
“They know that an Oktagon event is a great experience – somewhere they can go with their friends and have six hours of fun.
“We were very ambitious at the beginning, but I have to be honest, I did not see us selling out football stadiums in Germany after only eight years!
“We were dreaming, but now it is a reality, and we are super excited.”

Oktagon 58 at the Eden Stadium drew a crowd of 28,000 to the home of Slavia Prague FC as they held an event in an open-air football stadium for the first time in their history.
Previously, they had successfully held multiple events at the open-air tennis stadium in Stvanice, Prague, but moved to the football stadium after outgrowing the tennis venue.
Now the promotion is all set to make history with the biggest MMA event ever held in Europe.
