The brother of Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and the official social media account for the City of Detroit traded barbs on X recently after he made some negative comments about the city.
During the most recent episode of the “St. Brown Podcast” that Amon-Ra hosts with his brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, the older St. Brown made it quite clear he’s not a fan of Detroit, saying nobody would actually choose to live there.
“If (people) could choose to live anywhere in the world or the country, they would not choose Detroit,” Equanimeous said before mentioning the weather being a negative about the city.
Shortly after seeing the clip, the City of Detroit’s social media page fired back at Equanimeous, saying that he’s just mad because his little brother is better than him.
“Man, we know it’s hard when baby bro is outshining you,” the account said. “But you don’t have to take that out on us, Equanimeous. Our population has actually grown for the first time in more than six decades, per the (U.S. Census Bureau). Detroit now ranks as the 26th most populous city in America.”
That led to Equanimeous to clap back, saying, “Hopefully next year you’ll crack the top 25.”
The battle didn’t end there, though, and instead the City of Detroit absolutely shredded the journeyman wide receiver to close things out.
“Hopefully next year you don’t have to move to another city,” the response read.

Ouch.
A former sixth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2018, Equanimeous has had three different stops in the NFL during his career.
After his stint with the Packers, St. Brown joined the Chicago Bears for two seasons and is now on the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints.
Meanwhile, Amon-Ra has become one of the best receivers in the NFL and is coming off a career-best season in which he finished with 119 catches for 1,515 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
