Everyone is entitled to an off-week, but Cleveland Browns fans are not accustomed to that happening to the steady and stalwart wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Many took to social media to react to Cooper’s less-than-stellar day against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It follows a not-so-great day in Week 1 against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, but no one talked much about it last week because the entire Browns team played below expectations.
So, uh, a conversation needs to be had about Amari Cooper.
2 games. 5 catches. 27 yards. 4 drops.

Fans and media professionals commented on Cooper’s Week 2 performance during the game.
Browns reporter Tony Grossi tweeted: “Has Amari Cooper forgotten how to catch?”
AmiR pointed out that the drop while wide open with a perfect throw from Watson was “unacceptable.”
This drop by Amari Cooper is just unacceptable. It’s a perfect throw.
He dropped a TD last week too. Someone has to keep him accountable. #Brownspic.twitter.com/7g8YXjDWRv

DynastyCLE said: “Amari Cooper’s head seems to be somewhere else today.”
Kenneth speculated on the cause of Cooper’s troubles. He said: “I personally think he is checked out. After the contract issue then trade rumors and not getting him involved early. I think he is wanting out.”
For the most part, Cooper has been good since arriving in Cleveland. Perhaps he will break out of his slump in Week 3 against the New York Giants.
