DAY6 Young K‘s pre-debut photos have sparked a heated debate.
Recently, pre-debut photos of Young K gained attention from when he was in Canada.
While they might seem unexpected for an idol, they are the kind of photos many people of Young K’s age are used to and wouldn’t be amiss in high school students’ phones.
Yet, the OP of the post seemed to use the photos in a negative way.
I was on the verge of becoming a fan, but after finding this, I gave up, lol. Everyone was promoting him as having a clean image, but there it is, right on Pinterest! I’m genuinely surprised. And the first picture is from when he were in middle school? Was I the only one who didn’t know?

Yet, while one netizen agreed in the comments, most hit back at the OP for purposefully bringing them back during DAY6’s success with their recent comeback. Others said they found no issues with the photos and that he wasn’t doing anything wrong, especially as he went to an international school.
- What’s the issue with these photos???
- Aside from the photos, the poster’s intentions are just so obvious that it’s funny.
- It’s just a kiss; people do that sometimes. You’d think they were underage smoking and drinking from the way people react.
- Wow… I used to like him, but after seeing the photos, I’m completely disappointed. Can’t trust a celebrity’s image at all.
- Is this from their gangster days? When they first debuted, Young K really had a rough, streetwise image.
- Is there a law that says celebrities can’t date, whether they’re men or women? Why is everyone so sensitive about this? It’s a problem if they got someone pregnant, did drugs, or were involved in school violence—but dating? Let’s move on. They’re human, after all.
- Maybe it would’ve been an issue if this happened in a Korean school, but they were studying abroad, so what’s the problem? LOL, just accept different cultures. It’s so obvious what people are trying to do here.
