The Chicago Bulls are positioned to make a huge deal with the Miami Heat before the start of the season.
Chicago has been attempting to trade Zach LaVine for over a year.
Reports of LaVine’s return to full health have rekindled interest in the super athletic sniper guard, with the Toronto Raptors listed as suitors in the most recent rumor.
Miami is another potential landing spot for LaVine. The Heat need more offense, and Miami has multiple combinations of contracts it could send to Chicago to make a deal work.
Duncan Robinson and Terry Rozier to the Bulls in exchange for LaVine is a trade that would benefit both franchises.
For Chicago, turning LaVine’s monstrous $ 138 million remaining over three years into two separate two-year contracts would give the Bulls more flexibility for their rebuild.
For Miami, adding LaVine to a core of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro would enhance the Heat’s contention chances as Butler enters the final stage of his career. Essentially, what Miami was looking to add with Rozier, it would add a better version of by acquiring LaVine.
Even if a Bulls-Heat trade doesn’t manifest in the next month or two, it’s something to monitor throughout the start of the season, particularly if LaVine gets off to a productive start for Chicago.
