The Indiana Fever (12-15) will look to extend their winning streak to two straight when they host the Seattle Storm (17-9) Sunday afternoon. The Fever took care of business in a Friday night win 98-89 win against the Phoenix Mercury in their first game back since the Olympic break.
Clark’s 29 points were enough to hold off one of the best teams in the league, scoring 13 in the first quarter.
Clark credited the Mercury’s tenacious effort, as Kaylah Copper scored 32 points, essentially carrying the team on her back.
“You knew they were going to come in here with a lot of confidence, with three people that have won gold medals,” Clark told reporters after the win. “You know their confidence is really high, and I thought we came out and really set the tone.”
Clark also secured her 10th double-double thus far, coupled with Aliyah Boston’s 14 points and nine rebounds.
It was the Fever’s season-sweeping win of the Mercury. Indiana will look toward building a late-season playoff push.
Seattle fell to the Atlanta Dream Friday night, 83-81.
