There are a lot of lists and rankings going around right now, and it’s tough to keep track of them all, but there was one that I saw recently that truly caught my attention. CatCrave.com’s Jared Feinberg made a pre-Training Camp tiered list and ranked each NFC South team from first to fourth in nine separate units: QB, RB, O-Line, WR, TE, DBs, EDGE, D-Line and Off-Ball LB.
Alright, let’s piss off the entire NFC South and each respective fanbase.
More than happy to explain these rankings. pic.twitter.com/JiYt2VKdUH

So naturally, I put a number value on each ranking, giving a 1.5 multiplier for the premier positions (QB, WR, DBs and EDGE) and found out that based on this list, the Atlanta Falcons may not have the best overall roster in the NFC South.
As you can see from the chart, Atlanta ranking behind the Bucs at the outside premium positions, wide receiver and defensive back, have them on an uphill climb to overtake the back-to-back-to-back champions. Mix that in with them having the worst defensive line and off-ball linebacking corp in this ranking, and Atlanta had no chance to make up ground.
Now, there is plenty to contend with, and if you want to, you can reach Mr. Feinberg on his Twitter/X handle on the above tweet. Atlanta sunk a lot of draft capital into their defensive line, so the defensive line isn’t necessarily the worst as it is unproven, and Atlanta’s off-ball linebackers feel like an underrated unit.
But, as it stands in this tiered list, Atlanta has a climb to dethrone the Buccaneers in the NFC South.
