Georgia Bulldogs fans aren’t going to love this one.
David Cobb with CBS Sports released his power rankings for the best home-field advantages in the SEC. The conference boasts some of the loudest environments in college football, from Death Valley to The Swamp.
However, Cobb’s rankings have some baffling choices to some particular fans in the SEC, including ranking Georgia’s Sanford Stadium as the sixth-best home-field advantage in the conference.
“While the Bulldogs faithful deserve plenty of credit for the team’s success at Sanford Stadium, much of that dominance should probably be attributed to the talent advantage amassed by UGA under coach Kirby Smart,” Cobb wrote.
Even the Texas A&M Aggies fans have to be feeling a bit disappointed. After EA Sports College Football 25 gave Kyle Field the title of toughest place to play in college football, Cobb put the Aggies all the way down at No. 8 on his own list, and that’s just for the SEC.
For some reason, Cobb’s rankings put the Florida Gators and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at No. 3 in the SEC. This is despite the Gators losing four games at home over the last two seasons. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 41-1 at home over the last seven seasons, along with leading the nation with a 32-game home winning streak.
The LSU Tigers lead the way on the SEC rankings thanks to the nighttime atmosphere of Death Valley. You can see Cobb’s full SEC stadium rankings below.
