The UFC puts on another International Fight Week in Las Vegas. Following a makeover of the entire card, the main event will see Alex Pereira defend the UFC light heavyweight title in a rematch against Jiri Prochazka.
Pereira is a former kickboxing champion who beat rival Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 to become the UFC middleweight champion. The Brazilian moved in weight and beat Prochazka at UFC 295 for the light heavyweight title. Prochazka beat Glover Teixeira in 2022 for the UFC belt but was forced to relinquish it after suffering a shoulder injury. He is 1-0 since the Pereira fight.
Conor McGregor was supposed to fight Michael Chandler on the card, but McGregor backed out due to injury. Outside the new main event, added to UFC 303: Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes. Ortega has fought for featherweight gold twice, is 2-2 in his last four fights, and is ranked third in the featherweight rankings. Lopes, ranked 14th, is on a three-fight win streak. He has ten wins via knockout and twelve via submission.
Also on the card will be former UFC light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith, 2-2 in his last four fights, facing Roman Dolidze. Carlos Ulberg, on a six-fight win streak. He was initially supposed to fight Carlos Ulberg, who had to back out of the fight.
