The Dodgers on Wednesday ahead of their showdown with the Rockies at Coors Field officially activated Bobby Miller off the IL and placed Walker Buehler on the IL in a corresponding move.
Miller is slated to start Game 3 of the Dodgers’ series against the Rockies. He went on the IL with right shoulder inflammation on April 14. His last start came on April 10.
As for Buehler, he took a ball off the hip in his Tuesday night start and manager Dave Roberts indicated it could land the struggling righty on the IL. Some time off was probably due for Buehler anyway since he’d been struggling since his return from the IL in May. He missed all of 2023 because of because of UCL and flexor tendon surgery in his right arm.
In eight starts since returning on May 6 he amassed a 1-4 record and a 5.84 ERA. Tuesday in Colorado he allowed seven runs on seven hits in just 4.0 innings. His walk rate stayed around his career mark, but his strikeout rate was way down. Some time on the IL may ultimately benefit Buehler as he aims to return to All-Star form.
