It’s win or go home for Florida State and Virginia at the College World Series.
The two ACC rivals will go head-to-head in an elimination game on Sunday in Omaha.
The Seminoles lost a heartbreaker to No. 1 Tennessee on Friday, giving up four runs in the bottom of the ninth to blow a three-run lead and fall into the loser’s side of the double-elimination bracket. The Cavaliers suffered a similar fate, allowing a walk-off single to No. 4 North Carolina in the bottom of the ninth to land in this must-win situation.
The last time these two teams faced off, Florida State eliminated Virginia from the ACC Tournament with a 12-7 win back on May 24th.
The Seminoles are expected to throw LHP Carson Dorsey, who went 7-4 on the season with a 4.67 ERA and 81 strikeouts. The Cavaliers are expected to throw RHP Jay Woolfolk, who went 4-1 on the season with a 5.95 ERA and 64 strikeouts.

2:42 p.m.: Top 3rd — Another 1-2-3 inning for Florida State starter Carson Dorsey. Luke Hanson struck out swinging, Griff O’Ferrall grounded out to short and Henry Godbout flew out to right.

2:36 p.m.: Botton 2nd — HARRISON DIDAWICK! The Virginia centerfielder robs Florida State’s Daniel Cantu of a home run to end the inning! The Seminoles were sent down in order, with Marco Dinges (F9) and Jaime Ferrar (K) recording outs before the web gem.

2:31 p.m.: Top 2nd — Virginia’s Harrison Didawick recorded the first extra-base hit of the game with a double to deep center field but Florida State starter Carson Dorsey got out of the inning without any other trouble. Jacob Ference grounded out to second, Ethan Anderson popped out to second and Anthony Stephan grounded out to short.
End of 1st inning: Florida State 0, Virginia 0
2:25 p.m.: Bottom 1st — Virginia starter Jay Woolfolk is locked in facing elimination. He struck out Florida State’s Max Williams and Cam Smith to the bottom half then got James Tibbs III to fly out to center for a 1-2-3 inning.
2:15 p.m.: Top 1st — Picked off! Florida State starter Carson Dorsey caught Virginia’s Henry Godbout sleeping at first after a single with a nasty pick-off move. Dorsey also allowed a single to Casey Saucke but avoided any real damage, getting Griff O’Ferrall to line out and striking out Henry Ford to end the top-half of the inning.
