Spain are missing midfield star Gavi this summer who is out with a torn ACL. The only other injury for Spain to work around this tournament is that to Barcelona full-back Alex Balde, but he likely wouldn’t have started anyways.
The choices for head coach Luis de la Fuente are three-fold. First, at center-back, he seems to have chosen Robin Le Normand over Aymeric Laporte, with the latter ruled out of this game on Friday due to unspecified issues.
Additionally, he will have to select who to deploy at the third midfield position, with Fabian Ruiz, Fermin Lopez, and a host of others all likely in contention alongside the two established starters. Finally, at striker, selecting between the veteran Alvaro Morata and Real Madrid man Joselu may be tougher than it appears.

Goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic was one of the top performers at the World Cup in Qatar two years ago and will look to put in another big performance, while Josko Gvardiol has developed into a strong, versatile defender at Man City. Domagoj Vida has mostly been relegated to a leadership role at 35 years old, no longer considered a viable regular in the XI.
