The battle for WR3 is going to rage throughout the offseason for the Minnesota Vikings and one wide receiver took a step back in that chase. Third-year player Jalen Nailor has missed the first two days of minicamp practices due to an illness.
Vikings WR Jalen Nailor has not been at mandatory minicamp the first two days. Has been sick. Had looked great through the first few OTAs.

This is unfortunate for Nailor who, as The Athletic’s Alec Lewis mentioned, had looked really good during OTAs. Nailor needs a really good offseason after missing the better part of four months last season with a lingering hamstring injury.
Nailor is going to be one of many who are fighting for that spot, which is pivotal to the Vikings’ offense as head coach Kevin O’Connell likes to utilize 11 personnel. Brandon Powell looks to be the front-runner after his strong performance during his first season as a Vikings in 2023. Free agent signing Trent Sherfield and incumbent Trishton Jackson are also in the running for the position.
Hopefully Nailor is healthy enough for the final day of minicamp otherwise he could be starting training camp behind his competition.
